Sensis 2008 maps are now available for all models except the SL350F without PIN - and they all the Deluxe version which includes the fixed red light, speed camera and school zone warnings. You can buy them online now.

When you order, your new map will be sent to you on an SD card. We had hoped to have our new 'download online ' option available - but we're still fixing a couple of security issues.

Important: SL350D, XL488 and XL380 owners (and for those SL350F owners with the upgraded PIN security software) - don't forget to include your unit's SWID number on your order  - you'll be asked for it when you go through the Check-Out. We need it to get your new map licence.

To find your SWID, turn your unit on and go into GPS

Tap ABOUT / LICENCES/

Tap the SWID box - and your unique 16 digit number will pop up on your screen (as a sample ONLY - J5DW-5VL8-ZGC6-W84J).

Make sure you double check the numbers and the letters are case-sensitive - if you put in the wrong ID your GPS won't recognise the number so your new map won't work. And as it's not our Licensing System - it belongs to IGO - we can't change anything once the licence is issued.

Once you get your SD card, plug it into SL card slot and tap the Map Updater to load your new map into your onboard storage - it over-writes the old one.

Accessories for all our GPS range are now in stock - but they're only available online.

WARNING:  any Logic Gear GPS products that appear for sale on e-Bay ARE NOT COVERED BY OUR MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY and will not be support with service from Logic Gear or our authorised retailers. And if you purchase a Logic Gear unit on eBay make sure you get the security PIN number with the unit - we will not upgrade an unknown PIN

Logic Gear GPS units with their finger-friendly touch screens are totally simple to use. It only takes a couple of taps on the screen to enter your destination address and confirm - then your GPS immediately calculates your best route, and brings the easy-to-read map up on the screen. The supporting clear, concise voice instructions start immediately.

If you're new to GPS there are a couple of things you need to know:

1.  Your GPS won't work inside. It has to be able to communicate with some of the 28 satellites whirling overhead to establish exactly where it is, so it can then tell you where to go.

To get satellite connection -  take it outside - it will tell you when it has connection because the Find & Go screen colour will go GREEN, and the satellite icon will be BLACK.

(Think of it as your GPS always needs to get a suntan to work - which is pretty hard      if it's sitting on the kitchen table).

2. You never have to key in the address where you are - only the address of the place you want to go to. Your GPS will do the rest.

As long as your GPS has satellite connection, it will always know where you are (even if you don't).

3. You don't set the time in your GPS - your GPS does, using information it gets constantly from all those satellites. But you do have to set your GMT Time Zone - which you do inside the GPS Settings - not in the main Menu - and remember to change your time zone if you go from eg Sydney to Perth or London and want the right local time.

Logic Gear GPS units use the latest Sensis Whereis  Australian maps - standard in the SL350F, and Deluxe in the XL488, XL380  and SL350D. Overseas models use their own region's maps. In Australia, you can buy overseas online now. And you can now the new Sensis Whereis 2008 Deluxe Map that includes fixed red light camera and school zone alerts - it suits all models

The XL488, XL380, SL350D and SL350F's with upgraded software include an anti-theft security PIN number.

Remember - as long as you have satellite signal, your Logic Gear GPS always know exactly where you are on the road - even if you don't. Take a wrong turn, and it instantly recalculates your route and gets you back on track immediately. And when you arrive at your destination, just pop it into your shirt pocket or handbag for safekeeping.

Logic Gear GPS navigation - now you can enjoy conquoring the highways and byways - or at least arrive relaxed on time.
