SETTINGS / LANGUAGE & UNITS Set up for your location & your local time


Tap Language & Units to

  1. set your preferred program language from the choice of 30 languages
  2. select your preferred voice (male or female) in your preferred language
  3. set your preferred measurement units (miles or kilometres etc)
  4. set the date & time format for your local region in GMT time format

1.    Set your preferred Program Language

  • Tap English (AU) to change the program language from English (AU) to your preferred language. this will translate all written instructions in your gps into the language you have selected - so be careful not to select a language you can't read.\
  • tap your program language of choice to highlight and tap OK.   Your GPS will have to be restarted when you change this setting - and will ask for confirmation before it turns off then on again. When it restarts, all instructions will be in your newly selected language.

2. Set your preferred Voice Language

  • Tap English (AU) - Philippa to change the voice language from English (AU)  - female and select from the list of available languages and speakers.

  • Tap your voice language of choice to hear a sample voice prompt.

 

  • Tap OK to select your new spoken language.

 

You can select a voice language that is different to your program language eg program language - English (AU) with voice language eg Flemish - female - Ulla

3.  Set your preferred Distance Units

  • tap kilometres/metres to change your distance units. You can select from
    • kilometres/metres
    • miles/feet
    • miles/yards

Note: some of the listed units are not supported in all voice guidance languages - if your choice is not available, you will see a red warning message under the selector

 4. Set your local Date & Time

Important:  you don't set your local time in GPS - you set your location using GMT time inside these settings and the gps sets the time and date using data from the satellites.

  • tap set date & time format to bring up a new screen with four options
    • date format
    • date delimiter
    • time format
    • time zone  - in relation to GMT  (Greenwich mean time - London) - east coast Australia is GMT+12

4.1  Date format eg dd-mm-yyyy / yyyy-mm-dd  

Tap the arrow (either end) to select your date format for eg 2 October 2007 from:

  • yyyy-mm-dd     (year-month-day eg  2007-10-02)
  • yyyy-dd-mm     (year-day-month  eg 2007-02-10)
  • dd-mm-yyyy     (day-month-year eg 02-10-2007)

 

4.2  Date Delimiter eg  '-'    "."      "/"

Tap the arrow (either end) to select your date format for eg   2 october 2007 from:

  • '/' slash   (02/10/2007)
  • '-' minus (02-10-2007)
  • '.' point     (02.10.2007)

 

                                                            

4.3  Time Format

Tap the arrow (either end) to select from:

  • 12 hours with am/pm
  • 24 hours

 

4.4  Time Zone  eg GMT+10 Sydney, Melbourne

Time zones change as you go around the world - and in Logic Gear Navigation they're all measured from a base of London using GMT (Greenwich mean time).  if you're in Qld, NSW, Vic or Tas your local time is GMT+10, in SA and NT GMT+9:30 and in WA GMT+8

if your time is showing GMT London - you need to tap the arrows and travel half way around the world to set your time correctly.

tap one of the arrows and keep tapping until it brings up your local time zone  - that's all you have to do.

Now use the arrow in the top lh corner to go back to settings
